Summer / Holiday Camps
At Centercourt Athletic club, we believe in an overall focus on fundamentals, with a definite touch of fun. A typical day in the program includes a morning workout that emphasizes sound fundamentals and stroke production, and an afternoon session focusing on movement and recovery. The day ends with a period of supervised match play. Young players are also taught the importance of concentration and self-confidence in developing a sound mental attitude for competitive play. At CAC we believe that competition strengthens character by developing good sportsmanship, integrity, work ethic and respect for others. With the assistance of good coaches, campers learn to deal with the challenges of winning and losing in a safe, fun and compassionate environment. CAC will place each camper in a teaching group with players of comparable age and ability so that everyone is challenged to his or her full potential.
Junior Development / Multi-Sport
This year CAC will be offering a new multi-sport athletic option for campers in our Junior Development Camp. Although our focus is clearly on tennis, we believe that the opportunity for diversity of activity is important for children at this age. Through elective activities, we take time to explore our natural surroundings, to express our athletic interests, and to enjoy the rewards of team play. CAC Tennis Sports Camp is an ideal place for young athletes to improve not only their tennis but their overall athletic skills as well. Campers will work hard, make new friends, and have a lot of fun. Each camper will have the option to choose from not only tennis but a variety of sports activities. Tennis players will have the opportunity to play at the premiere private racquets facility in the northeast, as well as enjoy the use of 8 indoor air-conditioned tennis courts. Tennis sessions will consist of technique instruction, various live ball drills, match and point play, and on-court fitness. Also available as activity choices are a new pool, the fitness club, outdoor recreational areas, and sports fields (including basketball, ping pong, and soccer). Our staff consists of USPTA players, USPTR professionals, former ATP professionals and collegiate standouts. With the combination of outstanding facilities and dedicated coaches, your child is sure to have fun in a world class learning environment.
Junior Tournament Training / High Performance
The program highlights will include on/off court drills designed to increase first-step quickness, agility and balance drills, drills for increasing explosiveness, tennis match awareness drills such as volley/overhead recovery exercises and circle around the forehand drills (to be used with a medicine ball), and weight room workouts to improve core and leg strength. This program is designed for the tournament and varsity high-school player. (Work on description)
